SEAGOVILLE – SEAGOVILLE – Former Seagoville High School social studies teacher James Ray Henry passed away in 1991 at the age of 54. He was a towering man with an even bigger personality.
Mr. Henry was an avid supporter of the Seagoville Dragons football team. He attended East Texas State University prior to becoming a teacher in the Dallas ISD, and later left teaching to open his own business, Henry Insurance Agency.
The local football stadium, which first opened in 1964, was renamed the James Ray Henry Stadium in his memory due to the efforts of several of his colleagues at Seagoville High School.
