KAUFMAN COUNTY — The countdown has begun! Check out the new Elections page at https://www.kaufmancounty.net/elections/ for a real time countdown clock to the celebration of National Voter Registration Day. On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Americans will celebrate with a massive cross-country effort to register voters ahead of critical state and local elections in 2021 and midterm elections in 2022 and Kaufman County is no exception.

The Kaufman County Elections Department (KCED) is proud to be a National Voter Registration Day partner and will be encouraging all residents to register to vote and become familiar with the elections process at the Kaufman County Library, 3790 S. Houston St., Kaufman, Texas from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. In addition to Voter Registration, the event will be focusing on voter education, equipment demonstrations, and employment opportunities as a poll worker.

“Every eligible American voter should have the option to exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box, and National Voter Registration Day is the right day to start by getting registered,” said Kaufman County Elections Administrator Tandi Smith.

“Communities across the country, in all 50 states and D.C., are planning to use National Voter Registration Day to get registered and get #VoteReady. We want Kaufman County to be among the thousands of national, state, and local organizations and volunteers to be the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day 2021, added Smith”

Founded in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right — the right to vote. Nearly 4.5 million Americans have registered to vote on this holiday since the inaugural National Voter Registration Day. Let’s keep that momentum going and increase registration in Kaufman County. After all, we want to shout – KAUFMAN COUNTY VOTES!
