Harold Starnes, of Terrell, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, in Terrell, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, family member, and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on July 20, 1935, in Dallas, Texas to Wallace and Johnie Starnes.
Harold graduated from Seagoville High School and attended Southeastern State College, Southern Methodist University, and Texas A & M. He married Jane Ann Garner on November 23, 1955. He worked for many years at Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a driver up to Vice President of Super Marketing. He worked at Snap-On Tools in sales and at Matco Tools as a recruiter. For many years, he owned a Nascar shop in Canton, Texas, and he spent many happy first Monday weekends selling collectible cars. He was a sports enthusiast and loved the Cowboys, Mavericks, and Texas Rangers.
Harold is survived by his wife, Jane Ann Starnes of Terrell, Texas, his daughter Robyn Harden (Mickey) of Dallas, Texas, Anthony Starnes (Jayne) of Haltom City, Texas, his brother, Weldon (Bud) Starnes (Patricia) of Mt. Dora, Florida, his grandchildren, Bailey O’Neal (Jack), Elisabeth Harden, and Ryann Starnes, his great-grandchildren, Christian Harden and Beckah Harden, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Starnes, his father, Wallace Starnes, his mother, Johnie Jobe, his brother, Wallace Starnes, and his sister, Dorothy Perry.
The visitation will be held from 1-2 o’clock p.m. on Monday, September 13 at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 o’clock p.m. on Monday, September 13 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at home.
Pallbearers are Clay Stark, Scott Sorrells, Greg Garner, Hayden Stark, Mickey Harden, Jack O’Neal and honorary pallbearer Christian Harden.
