QUINLAN – The Crandall Lady Pirates volleyball team defeated the Quinlan Ford Lady Panthers in three sets in a non-district matchup Friday night at Ford High School.
Crandall took the opening set, 25-16, and inched closer to winning the match with a 25-19 decision in the second set. Crandall completed the sweep with a 25-18 win in the final set.
The Lady Pirates won a five-set thriller over Garland Lakeview Centennial on Tuesday, Aug. 24, in a non-district encounter at Crandall High School.
The Lady Patriots took the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-19, before Crandall came storming back to win the third and fourth sets — 25-17 and 25-21 — to forced a winner-take-all fifth set.
Crandall won a 15-13 nailbiter in the final set to put the finishing touches on an improbable comeback.
Coach Alley Lovern’s squad consists of Amaya Mayfield, Arianna Gonzalez, Lauren Matlock, Jodie Epperson, Gracy White, Leah Gardner, Preslee Spivey, muna Nnadozie, Ryan Barnett, Wendy Luttrell, Reese Pipkin, Kennedi Holmes, and Gracie Hardman.
The Lady Pirates will open district action on Friday, Sept. 10, against the Greenville Lady Lions.
