SEAGOVILLE – Former Seagoville High School Math teacher and Assistant Principal Tommy Smith passed away in 2012 at the age of 69. He was a tough but fair teacher who was admired and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Smith had genuine love for his students and possessed a great ability to teach not just math but life skills as well. He was an inspiration to many students and teachers during his career in education.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of W. W. Samuell High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Arlington, and his Master’s Degree from The University of New Mexico.
Mr. Smith also served as an Assistant Principal at Skyline High School before retiring as principal of Williams Middle School in Rockwall.
Mr. Smith was also an active member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas for many years.
